This policy explains how Benchfold (benchfold.com) handles information when you visit the site. It reflects the site’s current technical setup and the analytics configuration described below.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Benchfold uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and page performance.

When Real User Monitoring (RUM) is enabled, Cloudflare loads a JavaScript beacon from https://static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js. Because Benchfold is proxied through Cloudflare, beacon data is normally sent to https://benchfold.com/cdn-cgi/rum, a Cloudflare-managed endpoint on the Benchfold domain, for processing by Cloudflare.

The service reports aggregate measurements such as page views, Cloudflare-defined visits, page paths, referrers, country-level dimensions, and page-performance metrics. Benchfold uses these measurements to understand which pages are being reached and to maintain and improve the site. Benchfold does not use Cloudflare Web Analytics to build advertising profiles or to identify individual visitors.

Cloudflare states that its Web Analytics service does not collect or use visitors’ personal data. Its RUM beacon does not store or read cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, or similar browser storage. The beacon reads performance information available for the current page from browser APIs. Cloudflare also states that, although the source IP address is received as part of normal HTTP request handling, it is discarded at the nearest Cloudflare data center and is not stored in Cloudflare’s core databases or logs for RUM.

Benchfold uses Cloudflare’s RUM configuration that excludes visitors connecting through the EEA/EU locations covered by Cloudflare’s exclusion mode. Cloudflare’s current documented exclusion list also includes Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Analytics totals therefore do not represent all worldwide visits to Benchfold.

Benchfold does not treat Cloudflare Visits as a count of unique monthly visitors, and does not use those figures as a direct substitute for traffic definitions required by third-party affiliate programs.

Benchfold does not rely on analytics consent for visitors covered by Cloudflare’s configured EEA/EU exclusion mode because RUM data is not intentionally collected for those excluded connections.

For the limited, aggregate analytics collected outside the excluded locations, where an applicable law requires a legal basis and permits this configuration without prior consent, Benchfold relies on its legitimate interests in understanding aggregate site use, maintaining site reliability, and improving editorial navigation and performance. This assessment depends on the current privacy-preserving configuration: no analytics cookies or browser-storage tracking, no cross-site profiling, and no use of RUM data to identify individual visitors.

If Benchfold later enables analytics in a jurisdiction where prior consent is required, or introduces GA4, advertising pixels, remarketing, cross-site tracking, or other non-essential storage or tracking, Benchfold will review the consent requirements and update this policy before enabling that collection.

Benchfold does not currently set analytics or advertising cookies for visitor tracking. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or similar browser storage for RUM.

Under the current Phase 1 configuration, Benchfold does not display an analytics consent banner solely for Cloudflare Web Analytics. This may change if the analytics scope, geographic scope, or technologies used by the site change.

Hosting and essential logs

Benchfold is served through Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare’s network. Like most websites, the hosting and security infrastructure may process technical request data needed to deliver pages, route traffic, prevent abuse, and protect the service—for example IP addresses, request timestamps, user-agent information, and referrer information.

These hosting and security functions are separate from the optional RUM measurements described above. Benchfold does not use infrastructure logs for advertising profiling.

Links to other websites

Benchfold links to official vendor sites, documentation, and other third-party pages. When you follow an external link, that website’s privacy policy and terms apply. Benchfold does not control how those sites collect or use data.

Where Benchfold publishes affiliate links, those links may include referral or tracking parameters defined by the vendor or affiliate network. Benchfold may receive aggregate reporting about referrals, signups, conversions, or commissions from the relevant affiliate provider. The destination site’s policies apply after you leave Benchfold.

Email contact

Benchfold publishes contact@benchfold.com for factual corrections and editorial questions. When you send email to that address, your message may include your email address, message content, and standard email metadata such as routing headers.

Benchfold uses that information to review reports and respond when appropriate. Benchfold does not publish a contact form on the site; correspondence is handled through email and related mail infrastructure configured for the domain.

Children’s privacy

Benchfold is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data security

Benchfold relies on its hosting and service providers’ security practices for delivery and infrastructure protection. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

International visitors

Benchfold is published in English and may be accessed from multiple countries. Cloudflare Web Analytics is intentionally configured with regional exclusions as described above, so its analytics totals are not a complete measure of worldwide site traffic.

If Benchfold changes the geographic scope or introduces additional analytics or advertising technologies, the privacy and consent implications will be reviewed before those changes are enabled.

Changes to this policy

Benchfold may update this policy when the site adds or changes features that affect data collection, such as analytics, affiliate tracking, comment systems, or newsletter signups. The last-checked date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy meaningfully changes.
